1. The GKI 2.0 init_boot.img Separation

Android 14 fully realized Google's Generic Kernel Image (GKI 2.0) vision. The physical boot sequence separates Google's common kernel from the device-specific ramdisk:

  • Google-Signed boot.img: Ships identical binary kernels across all OEMs for monthly security patches. Contains zero ramdisk.
  • Generic Ramdisk init_boot.img: Carries /init and system mount definitions. Magisk exclusively patches this partition.

2. 64-Bit-Only Zygote Architecture

Flagship devices launching with Android 14 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Tensor G3) completely dropped 32-bit hardware support. Magisk and Zygisk operate purely in 64-bit address spaces on Android 14, eliminating 32-bit companion daemons and reducing memory overhead.

3. Play Integrity & Google Wallet Bypass on Android 14

Android 14 fully deprecated legacy SafetyNet Attestation in favor of the Play Integrity API. To pass device integrity on Android 14:

  1. Enable Zygisk in Magisk Settings.
  2. Enable Enforce DenyList and add Google Play Services.
  3. Flash Play Integrity Fix (PIF) and Shamiko.
