Our Core Mission

Magisk Guide (magiskguide.com) was created to demystify modern Android systemless rooting, boot image manipulation, and Zygisk module development. As Google continuously tightens Android verified boot (AVB 2.0), Generic Kernel Images (GKI), and hardware-backed Play Integrity verification, rooting has shifted from simple one-click exploits into a nuanced engineering domain.

Our objective is to deliver authoritative, clean, ad-clutter-free technical documentation and interactive diagnostic tools so developers, enthusiasts, and system administrators can customize their devices safely without risking permanent bricks or unrecoverable bootloops.

The Heritage of Magisk

Magisk was conceived and developed in 2016 by developer John Wu (@topjohnwu). Prior to Magisk, rooting required direct modification of the Android system partition (/system), which broke over-the-air (OTA) updates and failed SafetyNet attestation.

Magisk pioneered the "systemless" paradigm by mounting a temporary overlay filesystem during early userspace initialization (via magiskinit and 2-stage init). Released under the permissive GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0), Magisk has grown into the undisputed foundation for Android system modification, trusted by millions of users globally.
