How to root the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Z Flip 7 with Magisk

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 Magisk rooting status guide (2025). Z Fold 7 uses Snapdragon 8 Elite globally; Z Flip 7 uses Exynos 2500 including in the US. Critical note: One UI 8 removed OEM Unlocking toggle globally on both devices. Rooting method

Step 1. Download the full Odin firmware package for your exact model and CSC region (Official 4-file Odin firmware (BL, AP, CP, CSC)).
Step 2. Copy AP_*.tar.md5 to the phone and open the Magisk app. Tap Install → Select and Patch a File and choose the AP tar. Magisk patches boot.img inside it — no manual extraction is required.
Step 3. Copy the resulting magisk_patched.tar back to your computer.
Step 4. Open Odin and load magisk_patched.tar in the AP slot, then load the matching BL, CP and HOME_CSC files from the same firmware package.
Step 5. Flash, then boot the device and open the Magisk app to confirm root.

If the device bootloops

Recovery

Download Mode (Vol Up + Vol Down while folded + USB cable) -> Odin -> Flash original AP/BL/CP/CSC package. For Z Flip 7 (Exynos 2500), use Exynos-specific CSC - do NOT mix with Snapdragon firmware.

Keeping root across updates

Download the full Odin firmware for the new build, patch the new AP tar in the Magisk app, then flash it together with BL, CP and HOME_CSC (HOME_CSC keeps your data).
