Audiophile Sound Processing

ViPER4Android FX Magisk Module

The legendary digital audio processor (DSP) for Android. Enhance your smartphone's sound output across headphones, Bluetooth, and speakers with parametric equalization, Clarity enhancers, dynamic bass synthesis, and Convolver impulse response (IRS) acoustic modeling.

Key Audio Processing Engines

  • ViPER Clarity: Restores high-frequency detail and vocal crispness using Ozone+ and XHiFi harmonic exciter algorithms.
  • ViPER Bass: Synthesizes sub-bass frequencies without muddying mid-range tones via Natural Bass and Pure Bass modes.
  • Convolver (IRS): Recreates acoustic signatures of high-end tube amplifiers, Sennheiser/Sony headphones, and studio environments using raw impulse response files.
  • Headphone Surround+ (VHS v2): Simulates multi-channel 3D spatial surround sound for standard stereo IEMs and headphones.

Step-by-Step Installation on Android 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16

Step 1: Install Audio Modification Library (AML)

AML is a mandatory companion Magisk module that merges multiple audio effect configuration files (audio_effects.xml) to prevent driver conflicts:

  1. Download the Audio Modification Library (AML) zip from GitHub.
  2. Flash AML in Magisk App -> Modules -> Install from storage.

Step 2: Install ViPER4Android Repackaged Module

  1. Download the modern ViPER4Android FX (v2.7.2.1+ / WSTxda build) zip package.
  2. Flash the module in Magisk App.
  3. Reboot your device.

Step 3: Launch V4A & Configure Driver

  1. Open the ViPER4Android App.
  2. If prompted to install driver, tap OK, grant Superuser permissions, and allow the app to reboot the phone.
  3. Play audio in Spotify or YouTube, open V4A, and verify in the top menu that "Driver Status: Processing -> Yes".

Troubleshooting: Processing = No

If ViPER4Android shows Processing: No while audio is playing:

  • Disable Direct Volume Control (DVC): In Poweramp or Neutron Player, turn off Direct Volume Control in audio settings.
  • Disable Battery Optimization: Set ViPER4Android app battery usage to "Unrestricted" in Android Settings.
  • Attach AML: Reinstall Audio Modification Library (AML) after installing any OEM sound equalizer (Dolby Atmos, Dirac).
Source & Verification Standard

Verified with Audio Modification Library (AML) on Magisk v30.7 across Android 12–16 (February 23, 2026).
